The Weekly Road Ride

Every Thursday night you can count on a free, organized ride from Spoken Bicycles! Once daylight savings time springs forward, we are outside on the road. All rides depart at 6:00 sharp, please plan to arrive 5-10 minutes early.

There are multiple routes to chose from, please choose the one that fits your skill level, riding equipment + gear. Helmets are required for all riders.

Beginner
Leave from Spoken Bicycles, head down Central Ave towards the bike trail. Go right on the trail, turn around at the first bridge, and return back to the shop. The ride is roughly 6 miles, and is accessible for ALL bikes and skill levels.

Intermediate
Leave from Spoken Bicycles, head down Central Ave towards the bike trail. Go right on the trail and go all the way to the end of the trail where it dead ends. Turn around and come back to the shop. The ride is roughly 12 miles, and recommended for most* bikes and those individuals who can ride for 1hr+. *Cruiser bikes not recommended. https://ridewithgps.com/routes/20613036

Moderate/Advanced
This ride is all road and self supported, with an average of 20-25 miles each ride. A road bike is highly recommended for both your safety and that of the riders around you. Newcomers never fear, this ride is no drop, but it is recommended for those riders who can sustain at minimum a 15 mph average. Please be sure to bring extra tubes and co2 + be in appropriate riding gear.

SPRING/SUMMER ROUTE:

Our spring/summer route heads straight down Central Avenue to the river bike path, we get on the bike path for a short distance and then take the first right that takes you across the road and down the steps. Follow this path all the way to the big blue barn, which is the official 5k turn around point and head the same way back. Or feel free to add a loop around Smith Park if you’re up for more!

Tour to Taft's Ale House

Join us for the second Tour to Taft's Ale House presented by Spoken Bicycles! On Saturday, June 15 at 10:00am we will depart from Spoken Bicycles in Middletown and ride down to Taft's Ale House in Cincinnati. The Taft's beer van will be joining us as the official SAG.

This ride will take part on both roads and bike path. The Taft's SAG will meet at 2 designated stops along the way and will have extra water. Plan on bringing your own nutrition. We expect different pace groups to form, but please plan on riding this as a self-supported ride and have the route.

Participants will get a small gift card to Taft's!

Join us for a special Saturday Edition of the Weekly Road Ride.


Eber Flores will lead this one. Departing from the Baxter trailhead in Franklin, this route will head out towards Waynesville and back.

32 miles. Expect an average pace of 16-17mph. As always will try to stay as a group, but treat this ride as self-supported.

Goldsprints

Goldsprints are back!

Join us Saturday, February 9 for a night of racing! Taft’s Ale House will be providing prize packs for our winners, and we will be doing a Taft’s Tap Takeover! Our favorite race announcers Scot and Julie Hermann will be here to MC the evening.

ABOUT THE RACES:

The races we be broken down into 2 categories: experienced and beginner, with each of those having a men’s and women’s category. Beginner means you’ve done less than 5 races ever (any type of race be it road, CX, MTB). If you have more than 5 races under your belt you’re racing in the experienced category! We will have qualifying rounds for each category and the top times will move onto an elimination round with the top 2 going head to head for glory!

We will also feature a crowd favorite ‘Triathlon’ event. This will be an open category featuring running, drinking, and biking. TRIATHLON IS SOLD OUT!

Bring your sprinting legs! It will be a night to remember!
